Jean Grey & Wolverine Series (10/)

Classic X-Men #1

Wolverine: When I first joined up with Chuck and his X-Men, the entire squad gave me the pariah treatment. To them I was a killer— an animal. Not to Jean. She saw something in me… a piece of herself she’d kept hidden. A piece she couldn’t hide with me around. Everybody noticed it. Scott definitely noticed it. And Jean was with Scott. That was just how it was. How it always was. If I got too close to her, Scott or Warren would make sure I knew that she was too good for me. And she was. But that didn’t change the looks Jeanie would give. Sent me a different kind of feral. She died in my arms. I miss her every single day since. —Uncanny X-Force (2010) #12
